What is "The Amazing Spiderman?"

Back in 2007, everything was on schedule for another entry into Sam Raimi's Spiderman franchise with all the major starts set to reprise their roles. The film, like "Spiderman 3," would have several villains, including John Malkovich as the Vulture, Anne Hathaway as the Vultress, and the long awaited transformation of Dr. Conners into the Lizard. Then, things fell apart.
Citing the fact that he wouldn't be able to make a quality film with such a rushed schedule, Raimi left the film. Shortly thereafter, Maguire and Dunst followed him out the door. Then Sony announced that they were no longer making "Spiderman 4," they were going to reboot the entire series and start from scratch. Thus, "The Amazing Spiderman" was born. Directed by Marc Webb and staring Andrew Garfield as Spiderman, the film is set to release next summer. It is said to bring Spiderman back to his high school roots, as well as make it more believable.

I liked the Spiderman films, but I hated Tobey Maguire. So I am looking forward to this reboot, and from what I have heard, it is supposed to be really good.
